He has both an inner and outer infection in both ears. The Dr. said that his ears are so swollen from the infections that they are almost completely shut. He can't even see the ear drum or the tubes. He did suction out most of the gunk, which ended up being mucus instead of wax. He is now on a round of antibiotics and ear drops for the next week, along with Motrin and Tylenol for pain. We go back on the 30th in hopes that the Dr. will be able to see his ear drums and figure out what to do next. We are thinking the next step is to have the tubes removed.
On a brighter note the Motrin helped with his sleep last night. He was able to sleep peacefully from 9:30-1:45 and again from 3:45-7:00. He was up crying from 1:45-3:45, but those 2 stretches of sleep were nice.
