Callie at 8 Months

Age: 8 months

Weight: 16.6 lbs

Height: 25 inches

Head:????

Clothing: She is wearing 6 months, and but I think she might be going into 9 months soon. She has moved up into size 3 diapers, but they are a little big on her.

Sleeping: Still sucks!!! She dropped her evening nap, so if I am lucky she takes two naps a day, one at 9:00 and the other at 1:30. Since she dropped her evening nap her bedtime has been pushed up, so she is going down around 8:00 every night. Than she is usually up at 12:30, 2:30, 4:30, and up for the day at 6:30.

Eating Habits: Miss Callie is eating fruit and oatmeal for breakfast followed by a bottle, than a 4 oz bottle every 2-3 hours of so. She refuses to drink more than 4 oz. at a time, so she eats quite frequently. Than for dinner she eats another 4 oz. of fruit and veggies. We have also started giving her small bites of bread, pancakes, etc. I think we might start puffs in the next week or so.

Favorite Activity: Attempting to crawl around the floor. She more or less slither around on her stomach. She is still fascinated with Austin and loves getting into all his toys. She would rather play with his cars and trucks than her baby dolls and rattles.

Milestones: She said her first word, Mama a few weeks ago. She calls Michael, Austin, and Mommy Mama!!! Every time she sees one of us, she starts saying Mama, Mama, over and over again. She is getting her first tooth, it hasn't come through yet but I can feel it. She is also working on crawling, she just can't her knees under her.

Updates: Callie is now sleeping in her crib. Now I should clarify, he crib is currently in our room since she is not sleeping through the night, but she is sleeping in it. Surprisingly she is doing a lot better in it than we thought she would. She has also been suffering from a nasty cold. Which has left us all extremely tired and feeling extremely helpless. We are also gearing up for a trip to California to see my family and introduce Callie to everyone.

These pictures didn't turn out that great since she is still sick.

Phone Dump Friday

Hands down the best present I got this year for Christmas was my new phone. I'm able to get online, check my e-mail, take pictures, and even post to this blog. Without further ado my first phone dump Friday from my new phone.

Our Son... The Comedian

Some of the stuff that comes out of Austin's mouth is just pure genius. He definitely knows how to make us all laugh. I am so worried about forgetting all the stuff he says, so I am hoping to document it here. Here are a few that stand out form the past few months....

Austin: Mom, Callie is my best friend!
Me: That's great Buddy!
5 minutes later I hear Callie crying....
Me: Austin what is wrong with your sister?

Austin: Oh nothing, I just stepped on her head, and it wasn't an accident!!!
Me: That is not how we treat best friends.
Austin: She isn't my best friend anymore, she is back to being my sister.

Austin: Mommy, Callie is up from her nap.
Me: How do you know?
Austin: Because I went in there and told her "Wakie Wakie!!!" and now she is up.
Me: Great :/

These two were right around Christmas time...

  • Austin got out the swifter mop and told us, "This house is a mess and Santa doesn't like a dirty house!!!"
  • Austin told us Callie won't be getting any presents this year because she is a cry baby!!

Future NBA Star

Basketball started last Thursday and to say that Austin loved it would be an understatement.  He was truly in his element. I don't think I have seen anything cuter than watching 3, 4, and 5 year olds attempting to dribble a basketball and make baskets. Austin had so much fun and it was great for him to get some exercise.

I also signed Austin up for a mixed sports class on Mondays. Each week they learn a new sport; soccer, basketball, football, baseball, and lacrosse.  The past two weeks here basketball and soccer. I will make sure to update each Monday. He is pumped to play baseball.

Here are a couple I took this past practice. I will take the good camera on Thursday to get some better pictures.
