Week 37- Full Term Today

Week 37

Get excited, at 37 weeks your baby has reached full term. That means she's developed her most crucial functions. Of course, she'll get even healthier and stronger over the next few weeks, so don't get too impatient. Around week 37, many moms-to-be find that the nesting instinct kicks in as your body senses the baby will be here shortly.  Baby should be measuring around 18.9 to 20.9 inches and weighing in about 6.2 to 9.2 pounds. She will likely gain about 1/2 ounce each day.

Weight gain/loss:  I will let you know after my Dr. appt on Wednesday.

Maternity clothes?
Yep, although I did manage to squeeze into my regular jeans for a few hours on Sat. to go car shopping.

Stretch marks?
I think I might have spotted a few new ones :(
Sleep?
Sucks!!!!

Best moment this week? Over the weekend we installed the infant seat and I finished washing all her towels, wash cloths, and swaddle blankets. We also had our final growth scan last Wednesday.

Food cravings? Nope

Gender:
Little girl!!!

Belly button in or out?
Flat

Movement?
Yep, all the time and it is painful.

What I miss?
Sleeping and walking without pain

What I'm looking forward to: Finding a new car, we had to sell mine this past weekend. We have one we really like, just need to deal with the nitty gritty of negotiating the right price. All also really want to finish the nursery this week. Might make it difficult to get the last few things since I have no car.

Milestones: FULL TERM TODAY!!! 37weeks down, only 21 days to go!!!

Farewell Dear Friend

Today we took the plunge and sold my car. It just kept breaking down, and it didn't make sense to keep dumping money into it. It was such a bitter sweet feeling. This was the first car that I bought and paid for by myself. She gave us a good 12 years, she will be missed :(

Final Growth Scan

Today we had our final growth scan at Hopkins and it went well. Baby Girl has dropped back down into the 11th percentile, measuring at 33 weeks 1 day. The Dr. estimates that she is just under 5 pounds give or take a 1/2 pound. He didn't seem to concerned since my fluid levels look good, the placenta looks good and blood flow in the cords are still good. Her HB was measuring at 134 bmp. The MFS (Maternal Fetal Specialist) said we just need to continue to monitor her closely these next few weeks.Which means I will continue my BPP's (Biophysical Profiles) and NST (Non-Stress Test) on a weekly basis.

Week 36

Week 36

Your due date is just four weeks away. Hasn’t time flown? Your once-poppy seed would probably be able to breathe on her own if he was born right now. (If not, she’d probably need some TLC, but she’d likely be okay.) Most of her systems are in working order at 36 weeks. Since baby really could decide to make her arrival any day now, try to put in a little prep work. She's still in the 17.2- to 18.7-inch and 4.2- to 5.8-pound range and continues to beef up. She's getting closer and closer to being able to breathe on her own, her skin is getting smooth and soft, her gums are rigid, her liver and kidneys are in working order, her liver and kidneys are in working order.

Weight gain/loss: I will let you know after my appt this afternoon

Maternity clothes? Yep

Stretch marks?
No new ones

Sleep?
Still getting up 1-2 times a night, but part of this is because Austin still gets up 1-3 times a night :(

Best moment this week? I some stuff checked off my To-Do List!!! Today after my BPP and Dr. appt I am going shopping for crib skirt fabric and some picture frames.

Food cravings? Nothing in particular

The Big 30!!

Today is my 30th birthday and it is such a bittersweet feeling. I have been dreading that thought of turning 30 for some time now, but many have reassured me that 30 is the new 20 so I am hoping it turns out to be true. Overall it was a great day/weekend. Please excuse the crappy pictures below, they were taken on my outdated phone.

Michael and Austin got me a beautiful bouquet of deep blue hydrangeas, which also happened to be our wedding flowers :)

My sister sent me a cute lollipop bouquet along with a gift card!!

My in-laws offered to watch Austin for us so we could go to brunch down at the Inner Harbor. We have been wanting to try Miss Shirley's Cafe for some time now, so we figured this would be a good excuse to splurge a little, hey you only turn 30 once, right ?!?!?!

We started off our meal with an order of Funky Monkey Bread, it was so good but very rich!!! Who can go wrong with cinnamon bread covered in chocolate syrup, bananas, and nuts.

I have been dying to try Chicken and Waffles for some time now, so when I saw it on the menu I knew I had to order it. The portion was huge, 4 waffles and 3 chicken breasts. The only down fall is that it didn't come with syrup. Oh well, it was still amazing!!!

35 Weeks Down, 35 Days to Go!!!

Week 35

Growing, growing, growing. Yup, baby and you. You’ve reached 35 weeks, and your uterus has grown about 1,000 times its original size, a number that might sound exaggerated to everyone else -- but to you it probably feels more like a million. You can expect to gain about a half-pound a week before birth, and baby’s beefing up, too. At 35 weeks, some moms-to-be feel like they have a ton of stuff left to do before baby’s arrival. Others can barely wait for baby to make his debut. Either way, try not to stress. Baby will show up when he’s ready, and she won’t care if you haven’t checked every little detail off your list. She's about 17.2 to 18.7 inches. From here on out, she won't get much longer, but she's plumping up. She's now about 4.2 to 5.8 pounds, and she'll put on a pound or more of baby fat before birth.

Weight gain/loss: 6 pounds total

Maternity clothes? Yep

Stretch marks?
No new ones

Sleep?
Still getting up 1-2 times a night.

Best moment this week? I had my weekly BPP and everything looks good. Her heartbeat was measuring 136 bpm, and she is still head down. I also had a NST (non stress test) just too make sure she is moving around okay.

Food cravings? Anything sweet

Gender:
Little girl!!!

Belly button in or out?
In

Movement?
Yep, all the time and it is painful.

What I miss?
Sleeping

What I'm looking forward to: Checking more things off our to-do list. Last week I set out to finish the kids room, but unfortunately that didn't happen. I did buy all the new bedding for Austin and Baby Girl. I hung up some art work my friend re-created for me. Austin and I disinfected the crib and Michael moved it back up to the top notch. It is slowly coming together, just a few last little details and it should be complete.

Milestones: 35weeks down, only 35 days to go!!!

Gabby Came to Visit

Briana's older sister Gabby came to visit this past weekend. Needless to say Austin was thrilled to have the girls come over to spend the night and play with him. He loves having company at his house. The three of them had fun painting, playing out back, and making chocolate covered strawberries for Easter.

Week 34

Week 34

Watch what you say! Your curious baby is listening in to your conversations at 34 weeks -- and might enjoy a lullaby or two -- so go ahead and sing to her. Some say that baby will recognize songs mom sings while she’s in the womb, and may even be more easily soothed by them if she’s used to them once she’s on the “outside.” At week 34, you might breathe a little easier, since baby may descend lower into your pelvis and give your lungs some space. (Ahh!) Of course, some babies don’t do this until the day they’re born, so we’re not making any guarantees. The pitfall of this descent, of course, is even more pressure on your bladder, so be prepared to make even more trips to the ladies room over the coming weeks. At less than two months to go, she weighs in at about 4.2 pounds to 5.8 pounds and measures about 17.2 to 18.7 inches.

Weight gain/loss: 5 pounds total

Maternity clothes? Yep

Stretch marks?
No new ones

Sleep?
Still getting up 1-2 times a night.

Best moment this week? I had my bi-weekly Dr.'s appt this morning and everything looks good. I am still measuring 1-2 weeks behind, but they aren't too concerned. The baby's heartbeat was strong at 136 BPM. I also had my weekly BPP and everything looks good.

Food cravings? Chocolate milk again

Gender:
Little girl!!!

Belly button in or out?
In

Movement?
Yep, all the time and starting to get painful.

What I miss?
Sleeping

What I'm looking forward to: After sitting down and making a list of everything that still needs to be done, I realized that I am no where near ready. We dont even have the car seat out of storage!!! My goal is to have the kid's room completely done by this Sunday.

Milestones: 34 weeks down, only 6 weeks to go!!!
