Happy Birthday Austin

Wow!!! I know I say it every month but, I can't believe this year has gone by so quickly. Has I sit here and type this I cant help but think back to a year ago when we were in the hospital room waiting with you in our arms waiting to show you off to the world. Daddy and I had no clue about the roller coaster ride that the 3 of us were about to go on. This past year as been exciting and terrifying with lots of smiles, tears and laughter. Despite the hard times Daddy and I would not change anything, you are the best thing that has every happened to us.

Next week is your 1 year appointment so I will have to update your stats later. Here is what you have been up to:

• Still not sleeping through the night. You are getting up about 1-2 times a night, not too bad but could be better.
• Eating more and more table food, some of your favorite foods are blueberries, watermelon, cheese, grilled cheese sandwiches, yogurt.
• Words you are saying; Mama, Dada, hey, yes, no,
  
• You love blowing kisses to people
• When it is nap time or your are getting sleepy you start blowing kisses and Mommy knows it is bed time.
• One of your favorite past times is rolling around on the floor with a pillow.

My dear friend in California sent Austin his first basketball hoop for his birthday and he LOVES it. He likes to put all kinds of things through the hoop; bottles, various toys, etc. Silly boy!

Mod Monkey Birthday

Saturday we celebrated Austin's first birthday party. It was a small gathering with my parents, brother, and Michael's parents and siblings. We had lunch at Fuddruckers than came back to our house for cupcakes and presents. The cake smash didn't go as I hoped for, it didn't seem to interested in it. Oh well, when I get his 1 year pictures done hopefully I can get some good cake smash pictures.

Hives

Austin has a serious case of hives. We recently changed his formula from lactose free to a formula with lactose in it and he has had a serious reaction to it. I took him to the Dr. today and she agreed that he has hives and she referred us to an allergist so he can be tested. Dairy allergies run in both mine and Michael's family, I am just hoping that if Austin does have an allergy he outgrows it.

I attempted to take some pictures of his hives, sorry they can out so crappy. He wasn't having any part of the picture taking.

Sick

That is one word to describe the Brennan household this past week. Austin has come down with a nasty cold and when you add that 3 teeth are coming in it makes for a miserable baby and very sleepy parents. Austin was also kind enough to share his lovely cold with Mommy, so I am now sick too. Prayers that Michael doesn't get sick with the rest of us.
