Bluebonnets

If you live in or are from Texas you know how all about how important these pictures are. Getting pictures of your kids every year is something parents look forward to. I have tons of pictures of myself with Heather and Matt, as well as some with my friends during my senior year in high school. This is the first time I have been in town with the kids when they've been in bloom. The tradition continues...

From the looks of the pictures Callie clearly loved them!!!

White House Spring Garden Tour

Last Saturday a dear friend offered us tickets to see the White House Spring Garden Tour.  We had a great time walking around, looking at the White House grounds. On the tour we were able to view the Jacqueline Kennedy Garden, Rose Garden, Children's Garden, White House Kitchen Garden, White House Beehive, and the South Lawn of the White House. I think the highlight of the tour was seeing the First Dog, Bo.

Waiting so "patiently" for us to begin the tour

There is Bo!!

Austin thought this was a picture of Big Tex

Cherry Blossoms

Saturday we took the kids to DC for the annual Cherry Blossoms Festival. We had plans to meet up with some friends to also tour the White House Gardens, but they ended up getting sick. We still did the tour(later post) than spent the rest of the afternoon walking around DC and enjoying the beautiful weather.

We had a big rain storm a few days before we went, and unfortunately it washed away most of the blossoms. But we still made the most of the day, and saw a few trees that had some blooms. We did enjoy the beautiful tulip garden they had down by the tidal basin. Austin quickly got bored watching me take pictures, and decided that he wanted to participate so he took pictures with my phone. All in all it was a good day.
