Week 24

Week 24

At week 24, baby’s progress isn’t just about internal stuff, it’s about her looks too. With pinker, more opaque skin, she’s looking more and more, well, like a baby. Your 10.5-to-11.8-inch fetus weighs about 12.7 to 20.8 ounces and every week she gets closer and closer to being ready to survive (and thrive!) in the outside world. Her see-through skin is gradually becoming more opaque, and it's got a new pink glow, thanks to the small capillaries that have recently formed. You might be experiencing some of the discomforts of the later months of pregnancy like leg cramps, backaches and swollen feet.

How far along? 24 weeks

Weight gain/loss: Down 8 pounds

Maternity clothes? Not yet, I am holding out buying any winter maternity clothes. My cousin is giving me all her maternity clothes, so hopefully that will hold me over until the Spring when I can break out mine.

Stretch marks?
None.

Sleep?
Sleep has been terrible this last week.

Best moment this week? Nothing that I can think of

Food cravings? Still chocolate milk, but I have moved on to turkey wraps with lots of spinach, sliced tomatoes, and avocados. Hey at least it is healthy!!

Gender:
I think we might have caved and decided to find out, not sure yet. We still have a month until our next ultrasound.

Belly button in or out?
In

Movement?
Yep

What I miss?
Sleeping comfortably and the occasional adult beverage. We are going to a baby shower in a few weeks, and I really wish I could enjoy a glass of wine with the cupcakes!

What I'm looking forward to: My Dr. appt this Wednesday.

Milestones: I think I have officially popped and now look pregnant. This week we are also starting Austin in his "big boy" bed during naptime.

I haven't done a bump picture in a while, so here I am in all my pregnancy glory.

Cowboys Stadium

While we were in Dallas over Christmas Michael got to check something off his bucket list. We took a self-guided tour of Cowboys Stadium, home to his favorite team the Dallas Cowboys. We started in the Cowboys Stadium Pro Shop, than had access to the field, the Cowboys and Cheerleaders locker room, the Miller Lite Club and the post-game interview room. It was awesome, the only downside was not taking Austin, he would have loved running around on the field.

Flash Back Friday

Last week I found an old camera of ours that had broke that Austin now plays with. I thought I had taken out the sim card, but when I realized I didn't I was eager to see what pictures were on there. Michael and I had a good time looking at the baby pictures of Austin, he was such a little chunker.

Here are a few of our favorites.

New Year's Eve Dinner

Michael and I both spent New Year's Eve sick in Dallas, he was recovering from the flu and I had the beginnings of bronchitis. We were both miserable but sucked it up because we had reservations as our favorite restaurant Pappadeaux's with my family. While we waited for our table we took some quick impromptu pictures with my sister's new iPhone.

Week 23

Week 23

You baby is now listening to your voice and your heartbeat -- and even to loud sounds like cars honking and dogs barking. Their face is fully formed now -- they just needs a little extra fat to fill it out. At about 10.5 to 11.8 inches and about 12.7 to 20.8 ounces, baby's not just getting bigger, they're getting even cuter.

How far along? 23 weeks

Weight gain/loss: Down 10 pounds

Maternity clothes? Nope, but I did finally get a few pairs of yoga pants

Stretch marks?
None.

Sleep?
Sleep is alright, getting up twice a night

Best moment this week?
Michael felt the baby kick.

Food cravings? Still loving fresh fruits and chocolate milk

Gender:
Team Green this time around

Belly button in or out?
In

Movement?
Yep

What I miss?
I still miss sleeping through the night. Austin has been really sick this past week with inner and outer ear infections in both ears. We were averaging 3 hours of sleep a night for 3-4 days. It was rough.

What I'm looking forward to: I have my next appointment on Feb 1st, than Austin and I are going to California in a few weeks for my cousin's bridal shower.

Milestones: Aside from being able to feel the baby kick from the outside, I "think" I found the bedding for the crib. Just need to figure out what to do for Austin's bed.

Christmas Eve Recap

This post is only a month late give or take a few days!! We spent Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with Michael's parents followed by a week in Dallas with my family. I was really surprised that Austin had no real interest in opening any of his presents Christmas morning. Michael and I ended up having to open all of them for him. I am not sure what his deal was but he is loving all of his toys now. He was spoiled to say the least; remote control car, books, child's "ipad", LeapFrog Tag Jr., trains, tons of clothes, bank, bath toys, you name it he probably got it :) Next Christmas should be lots of fun since we will be have 6-7 month old to help celebrate.
