Growth Scan and 32 Week Baby Bump

Yesterday Michael and I headed back to Johns Hopkins for yet another growth scan to see how Baby Girl is doing. Everything looks good, she is now measuring in the 19th percentile which is much better than the 2 previous scans (11th and 7th). The Dr. is guesstimating that she weighs about 3 pounds. Hopkins doesn't like to see babies go below the 15th percentile, and she is close to that line so the Dr. wants me to come back in for another scan in one month. Overall it was one of our better scans and gave us some hope that she won't be as small when she arrives.

Here is my 32 week baby bump picture. It is hard to believe I have only gained a few pounds, I feel like HUGE!!

Week 32

Week 32

At 32 weeks, baby’s birth still seems kind of far away, but you and baby are physically ready in a lot of ways, just in case there’s an early arrival. Baby may have turned so she’s in the head-down position by now, poised for her trip down the birth canal. Still growing, your baby weighs in at about 2.5 to 3.8 pounds and measures about 15.2 to 16.7 inches.

Weight gain/loss: My Dr. was very happy to see that I have finally gained some weight, only 2 pounds but a gain is a gain.

Maternity clothes? Yep

Stretch marks?
No new ones

Sleep?
Still getting up 1-2 times a night.

Best moment this week? I had my bi-weekly Dr.'s appt this morning and everything looks good. I am still measuring 1-2 weeks behind, but they aren't too concerned. The baby's heartbeat was strong at 156 BPM, and she is no longer breech.

Food cravings? Fresh fruit and sweets

Gender:
Little girl!!!

Belly button in or out?
In

Movement?
Yep, all the time.

What I miss?
Being able to pick up Austin and carry him around.

What I'm looking forward to: I have another growth scan at Hopkins this Wednesday to see if the baby has gone up in the weight percentile. Our fingers are always crossed that she will eventually have a growth spurt, no luck so far.

Milestones: 32 weeks down, only 8 weeks to go!!!

Thomas Bubbles

Austin is seriously obsessed with bubbles. Last week I bought him a new Thomas the Train bubble blower and he has played with it every.single.day since! Well worth the $3.99 I paid for it.

Week 31

Ok, so I officially suck at blogging these days, my apologies. The weather here has been perfect, so I would much rather spend my time outside with Austin enjoying these last few weeks, just the 2 of us.

Week 31

She's about 15.2 to 16.7 inches long and weighs about 2.5 to 3.8 pounds this month. She's getting so big, she's probably crowding your lungs. She's going through major brain and nerve development.Eye development, too. Her iries now react to light! All five of her senses are in working order.

How far along? 31 weeks

Weight gain/loss:
Back up to pre-pregnant weight finally.

Maternity clothes? Yep

Stretch marks?

Best moment this week? Michael and I are finally starting to talk about names.

Quick Update

I just talked to my Dr. and he wants me to start coming in weekly (every Monday) to get bio-physical profiles done of the baby. The Dr. has decided not to change my due date b/c he feels it isn't worth the risk. So we are now back to monitoring the baby's size to make sure she doesn't drop anymore.

Breathing a Slight Sigh of Relief

First off thank you so much for all your thoughts, prayers and vibes. I am convinced they really do help!!!

Today Michael and I made the quick drive over to Johns Hopkins for our in-depth growth scan and meeting with the Maternal Fetal Specialist (MFS) Our u/s lasted over an hour than we met with the MFS, and all looks well with the baby. Based on all my tests and past u/s the MFS thinks that my due date is off and needs to be changed to a week or7-10 days later. The baby is still measuring on the small side in the 14th percentile but not nearly as bad as the 7th percentile that we were originally told.

He said that if we were to go off my original due date of May 21st than it makes sense that the baby is measuring in the 7th, but if we move my due date back to the May 26th- 28th, than the measurements looks more in line with the 14th percentile. So now I have another appointment with my OB on the 12th to go over all the findings and get my due date straightened out. The baby is measuring 2 pounds 4 oz. right now which is good news. We will need to continue to monitor and get routine growth scans, since the baby is still on the small side. But as of right now we don't need to worry about an ultra early delivery.

You’re probably already getting a little preview of baby’s personality, the more your feel er move. You might get some playful kicks and jabs, and start to feel little hiccups, too! At 29 weeks, she’s not just moving a lot, she’s also plumping up. Baby already measures about 15.2 to 16.7 inches long. Right now, she weighs about 2.5 to 3.8 pounds but she's still got a ways to go -- can you believe she'll triple in weight before birth?

2nd Cousins

While in CA Austin had the opportunity to play with 4 of his 2nd cousins, Leila, Abby, Nathan, Mikey. While they didn't always get along, they did have tons of fun together riding bikes, hammering nails into a cardboard box, running around, and causing trouble!!! I apologize in advance for the blurry pictures, I took our point & shoot and didn't realize Austin had changed the setting until a few days into the trip :(
