Teaser Pictures

A few weeks ago Michael and I met up with Nick and Normailed of Iled and Nick Photography to get Austin's 1 year pictures taken. It was a hot day and Austin was quite cranky but Nick and Normailed were able to get some great shots. Thanks again guys!!! Here are a few teasers they shared.

Its Been a Long 36 Hours

Yesterday Michael and I both work sick as could be. I wont get into the details but it wasn't pretty. We think that it might have been food poisoning but who knows. Austin is teething so he has been completely miserable; fever, diarrhea, whiny, not eating, etc.

Last night it got so much worse. We put Austin to bed at his normal time, and he fell asleep with no problem. Thank God b/c both Michael and I felt like death. About 45 minutes later (we are already in bed) we hear him screaming, so Michael goes in to check on him and he has thrown up all over his crib in 3 spots.

Ugh, so I get Austin all cleaned up while Michael cleans the crib and changes the sheets. I rock Austin for a few minutes to calm him down and put him back to bed. Not even 15 minutes later I hear him screaming again and I go in to check on him and he has thrown up all over his sheets again in addition to throwing up all over the floor.

So we repeated the whole process all over. Finally around 10:30 we tucked Austin into his crib hoping and praying that he would fall asleep without anymore incidents. He woke up at 12:00, 1:45, 3:00, 5:45 and than 7:10 for the day. Poor little guy Sad

We are all feeling a little better today. Thank goodness.

I forgot to blog about this last week, so I will do it now. Remember when I posted about Austin's hives break out? Well Last Thursday we took Austin to get his testing done. After waiting over an hour to be seen we were called back. After talking with the specialist we decided to test Austin for milk, egg and soy allergies. He did so well when the nurse but the "rain drops" of serum on his arm than "tickled" the spot with the needle. He did not even flinch. We were escorted back into the waiting room and had to wait 15 mins than they would look at the results. Much to our surprise it took less than 1 min for hives to start popping up where the milk was. Thankfully he tested negative for soy and eggs.

So over the past week we have been mixing his formula with soy milk to get his stomach acclimated. Yesterday we successfully weened him completely off formula and he is now solely on soy milk. Our next step is to ween him completely off the bottle. Eeek

Finally

For the past few weeks Michael and I have been in a constant battle with Austin about eating. He refuses most table foods and pretty much all purees. He will take a few bites and then turn his head or cry to get out of his high chair.

One of my friends Shannon, told me how she buys organic frozen veggies, steams them and Caroline eats them up. Desperate I picked up a bag of frozen veggies and decided to give it a try. Couldn't hurt to try, right?!?! I also picked up some Mickey Mouse utnesils to make dinner time more "fun", and in hope to get him to eat.

Much to our surprise dinner was a complete success tonight, and I have pictures to prove it!!!

Presents from Aunt Heather

As I mentioned in my last post, my sister was in town last week visiting. The first stop on the way home from the airport was to Toys-R-Us to pick out Austin's birthday present. I had been wanting to get him a water for some time now and it worked out perfectly since Heather didn't know what to get him. Once he got used the water splashing around he loved it and was soaked by the time he was done. We have been playing with it every night since Aunt Heather left.

Thanks again Aunt Heather!!!!

Heather Comes to Visit

Last week my sister Heather came to visit. We had so much fun but it flew by way to fast. We went shopping, ate way to much food, walked around Lexington Market and Caton. The highlight of our excursions was heading to Georgetown for cupcakes, than over to Trader Joe's for 10 bottles of wine. Heather, please come back soon!!!

After seeing this sign next door and talking to some people in line we walked down a few blocks to try Baked and Wired cupcakes.
We actually preferred Baked and Wired. They were bigger, tastier, and no line!!
