I forgot to blog about this last week, so I will do it now. Remember when I posted about Austin's hives break out? Well Last Thursday we took Austin to get his testing done. After waiting over an hour to be seen we were called back. After talking with the specialist we decided to test Austin for milk, egg and soy allergies. He did so well when the nurse but the "rain drops" of serum on his arm than "tickled" the spot with the needle. He did not even flinch. We were escorted back into the waiting room and had to wait 15 mins than they would look at the results. Much to our surprise it took less than 1 min for hives to start popping up where the milk was. Thankfully he tested negative for soy and eggs.

So over the past week we have been mixing his formula with soy milk to get his stomach acclimated. Yesterday we successfully weened him completely off formula and he is now solely on soy milk. Our next step is to ween him completely off the bottle. Eeek

  1. Poor Austin. Glad you were able to find out what was causing the hives though. Is a milk allergy a life-long thing or does it go away with time?
