Urban Pirates

A few weeks back Bev and I took the kids on a pirate cruise around the Inner Harbor. It was so much fun... They do a free story time every Wed and Fri at 9 am. Than we went on the 10 am cruise, it is only an hour long but it felt like much longer. They have vests and tattoos for every person on the boat, and the crew is awesome with the kids. The highlight of the cruise was getting to shoot the water cannons at "Mad Dog" the bad pirate.

All Things Paper

I didn't do nearly as much as I wanted to do for Austin's party. Since I don't have a money tree growing in my back yard and there are only so many hours in a day, I had to scale back the DIY projects. I DIY'ed almost everything for the party, and I got so many compliments on everything.

The first thing I did was buy a PDF file from Lauren Haddock Design's off Etsy for the cupcake toppers. A good friend of mine was also gracious enough to cut out a bunch of cupcake wrappers for me to look like Mickey Mouse pants. All I had to do was glue on two white buttons. I also printed a few sheets of this designs and punched them out for confetti for the tables. I found a picture of subway art that I really liked, and instead of paying for one I created one myself. I made his name banner with my circut, and attached a few stickers. Balloons were all bought at Party City. For the favors I bought a few Mickey Mouse related items, and with the help of my mom we made homemade sugar cookies that we dipped in chocolate and added sprinkles.

Austin's Mickey Mouse Birthday Party

By now we all know that Austin is fairly obsessed with Mickey Mouse, so it was only fitting that we throw him a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse party for his 2nd birthday. The day started out pretty rough with a big thunderstorm, the balloons looking funny once blown up, a swarm of wasps intruding the party, and one poor little boy getting stung. However, we forged through and Austin had a blast!!

I will break up the birthday post into 2 different posts. This first one will be of the party and the one tomorrow will be all of the decorations, paper products and all my DIY projects.

Project 52- Week 27

Only our child would crawl inside a pillow case and fall asleep.
(Don't worry we promptly took him out of the pillow case)
