Newest Member of Our Family....

Austin is pleased to present his first pet... Bubbles!!! Yep that's right, we took the plunge and got Austin a fish. We named him Bubbles, since Austin points out the bubbles in his tank. Bubbles is a male Fantail Beta fish, and he is beautiful.

Someone Got a New Bike

Austin has wanted a bike for the past few months, every time we go to any store he asks for a bike. My neighbor and I went to a consignment sale a few weeks back, and I was on the look out for a bike for Austin. We got there a little after 7 and luckily I scored the last bike there. I got home before Austin woke up, so I was eager to show him. When he woke up, he was ecstatic. It has been close to 3 weeks since I bought the bike and he still rides it every single day for close to 2-3 hours.

Hurrican Irene

Last week Hurricane Irene blew through the East Coast. We were told to prepare for the worst, so we stocked up on food, water, etc. We forgot to buy batteries and every store we went to (about 15) were sold out of them.

Well Hurricane Irene came and went thankfully causing very little damage. We ended up getting about 11 inches of rain, a little flooding in our backyard and lots of leaves on our patio. The worst part of the storm was losing power for over 3 days. Yay, so glad I stocked the fridge and freezer before the storm :( I ended up having to throw every thing away. Oh well, it good have been a lot worse.

2 Year's Old!!!

Wow, am I late on posting about Austin's 2 year appointment and all the new things that are happening with him. He had his 2 year appointment about 2-3 weeks ago, and everything looked great. He is getting so much better at his Dr. appt's I "think" he is actually enjoys going. He loves playing with the Dr's spinning chair, her stethoscope and the blood pressure cuff.

Here are is stats:

Weight:26 lbs 14.8 ounces 50th percentile
Height: 35 1/4 inches 70th percentile

He has only gained a little less than a pound since his 18th month check up, but grew over 3 inches. To say he is tall and skinny is an understatement. Without his clothes on he looks so scrawny, but he is extremely active so that could be the culprit. Here is a little about what has been going on with him, he is quite the character these days.

• Can count to from 1 to 14
• Knows a few shapes; circle, square, heart, and star
• We are working on colors but have not been very successful, everything is yellow
• Sleeping through the night pretty consistently!!! This is huge, only took 2 years!!!
• Loves to play with his trains, bike, and cars
• Loves Mickey Mouse, Thomas the Train, Toy Story, Cars, and Bubble Guppies
• Favorite snacks are; raisins, fruit snacks, carrots, watermelon,
  
• Loves playing ball with Daddy

Austin you are such a joy, you definitely keep Daddy and I on our toes everyday. We love you so much, and cannot believe that you are already 2 years old!!
